To borrow materials you will need a valid library card and an account balance below $5.
Library cards are free of charge for those who live, work, or attend school in Washington County. Your card may be used to borrow materials from all Washington County Library System locations. Borrowed material may be returned to any location, unless otherwise stated.
A library card application form must be completed and the required documentation presented. A parent or legal guardian must verify the account of a juvenile applicant, 17 years or younger. Both parent or legal guardian and juvenile applicant must be present for the library to issue a new card for the juvenile applicant.
To get a library card:
- Complete and submit a library card application form.
- Present valid government-issued identification.
- Present proof of current mailing address, if not correct on government-issued ID.
- For non-residents, appropriate verification requires proof that you work or attend school in Washington County or be charged a yearly $25 non-resident fee.
Library card or Arkansas State issued ID is required for all transactions on an account. Each cardholder assumes responsibility for all materials borrowed or services used. A $1 fee is charged for each replacement card. Library cards expire yearly and may be renewed in person, by email, or over the phone. Patrons are responsible for informing the library of address, phone, and email changes.
